Other pilots also claimed mechanical woes were repeatedly ignored, according to a National Transportation Safety Board report released Thursday. Chalk's Ocean Airways Flight 101 had just taken off from the Port of Miami, bound for Bimini on Dec. 19, when the right wing broke off and caught fire. The 7-ton seaplane plunged into the water near a rock jetty, killing all 20 on board. Among them: Capt. Michele L. Marks, 37, of Boynton Beach; First Officer Paul J. DeSanctis, 34, of Reading, Pa., and 18 passengers, including 12 Bimini residents and three infants.

He was instrumental in securing the lease for the club's present location on the MacArthur Causeway between downtown Miami and Miami Beach, and served three terms as commodore from 1941 through '51.

Bryan brothers hope to take home doubles titleTwins Bob and Mike Bryan of the United States beat Mark Knowles of the Bahamas and Daniel Nestor of Canada, 6-4, 6-7 (3), 7-6 (3), 6-1, Friday in the Wimbledon semifinals.Nestor and Knowles bowed out after playing the longest match in Wimbledon history a 6-hour, 9-minute quarterfinal win over Simon Aspelin and Todd Perry. The Bryans will play Fabrice Santoro of France and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia in today's final. Santoro and Zimonjic beat Martin Damm of the Czech Republic and India's Leander Paes, 6-2, 6-1, 7-5.
